This three (additional twilight meeting for KS1 assessment) session course is designed to support leaders with strengthening their understanding of end of key stage assessments and their role within internal moderation. It provides opportunities for leaders to work alongside school staff and experienced moderators to assess the schools collections of reading, writing and maths.
£190 per person for all Peterborough schools and Cambridgeshire LA maintained schools* (£100 for second delegate) for the programme of sessions*
£220 per person all other LA schools and Independent schools* (£100 for second delegate) for the programme of sessions*
*No charge for schools who have bought into the leadership package

• To further develop knowledge of the ‘pupil can’ statements for teacher assessment at the end of Key Stages 1 and 2 and the additional standards introduced for 2019/20
• To explore the DfE exemplification materials and Local Authority collections for pupils working at the Expected Standard and at Greater Depth within the Expected Standard
• To support the consistent and accurate assessment of reading, writing and maths across schools and in line with nationally agreed standards
• To further develop knowledge of EYFS Profile Assessments
• To further develop leadership skills linked to rigorous and effective internal moderation in school
This session will focus on becoming more familiar with, and developing a more secure understanding of, the ‘pupil can’ statements of writing at KS1 & 2 (including new pre-key stage standards introduced for 2018/19). Delegates will have an opportunity to explore the DfE exemplification materials as well as collections of work from local schools to identify good practice. There will be an opportunity to investigate work at both the Expected and Greater Depth Standards.
Session 1B (twilight for KS1 assessment)
This shorter session will focus on becoming more familiar with the assessment of mathematics and reading at KS1. It will provide an opportunity for leaders to understand how to guide staff in identifying evidence that supports assessment with a particular focus on gathering evidence for pupils working within the Greater Depth Standard.
This session will focus on becoming more familiar with, and developing a more secure understanding of, the EYFS Profile. Delegates will have an opportunity to explore the DfE EYFSP exemplification materials. There will be an opportunity to participate in some agreement trialling to look at emerging, expected and exceeding in the EYFS Profile.
Delegates will be invited to accompany their staff to the KS1/Y2 Moderation Workshops and the KS2/Y6 Assessment of Writing ‘Have-a-go’ sessions (free of charge).
This final session will focus on leading robust internal moderation in school. Delegates will be given the opportunity to carry out: ‘mock’ moderations; provide challenge where appropriate; identify gaps in learning; solutions to address any areas of concern.
