Description
This is an opportunity to ‘Aim High’ and be ambitious for our children in EYFS and in Y1.The focus of these termly twilight meetings is to share good phonics practice and support schools in improving and sustaining Y1 phonics outcomes of above 85% and above 90%. Meetings will focus on identifying key actions to support the leadership of phonics and how teaching, assessment and monitoring can further developed. The meetings will also provide opportunities to visit schools and leaders across the city and beyond to discuss and see good practice in action. Experienced and successful Phonics Leaders and Phonics Champions will also contribute to these meetings.
Each session will focus on:
• Reviewing and refining current action plans
• Reviewing assessment outcomes and actions to further support learning and teaching
• Sharing good/outstanding local practice
• Sharing good/outstanding practice from outside of Peterborough

The agenda for each meeting will be confirmed via email and later agenda items will be agreed in response to needs and requests from delegates attending.

Cost Details

£65 per school per session for all Peterborough schools and Cambridgeshire LA maintained schools**

£75 per school per session for other LA schools and Independent schools**

**No charge for schools who have bought into the phonics package

Code: SCH/20/33 Phonics Network Meeting-Aiming Higher- Session 5 - Summer term

This is an opportunity to ‘Aim Higher’ and further close the gap to national average in phonics by the end of Year 1. Meetings will focus on identifying key actions to support the leadership of phonics and how teaching, assessment and monitoring can be further improved. The meetings will also provide opportunities to visit schools and leaders across the city and beyond to discuss and see good practice in action. Experienced and successful Phonics Leaders and Phonics Champions, who have led improvement in their own schools, will also contribute to these meetings.

Time will be available at the end of the session for questions and networking with other EYFS Phase Leaders

Code: SCH/20/27 EYFS Profile Moderation Workshops for Non-Moderated Schools -option 1

The Moderation Workshops enable Reception Teachers and other relevant staff to:

• Take part in agreement trialling activities
• Share their judgements with moderating teams and colleagues to ensure that the ‘pitch’ of their profile judgements is accurate
• Ensure that they are being carried out in accordance with the requirements and in line with exemplified national standards.

Teachers must bring with them:
• Observational evidence for a minimum of 3 children from across the school’s classes showing, where possible, attainment at Emerging, Expected and Exceeding: Please bring hard copies (Areas of Learning tbc)
• Current or recent cohort data
• EYFS Profile Handbook 2020
• EYFS ARA 2020
• EYFS Profile Exemplification materials.

Termly half day meetings provide opportunities for networking with colleagues, exploring examples of mathematical activities, and discussion of pedagogical issues. There will be ideas and support for leaders to lead staff training and professional development in their schools.

This meeting is for all teachers in reception including NQTs and teachers new to EYFS.

NQTs & new to reception teachers to arrive at 13:30.

Other reception teachers to arrive at 15:45 - 17:30.

The focus of these termly meetings is to share good early years practice and provide updates on new initiatives. These meetings will provide opportunities to visit schools across the city and to see examples of good provision.
NQTs and New to Reception teachers are invited to attend from 13:30 to provide additional support and training on topics such as outdoor learning, schemes, engaging boys. The focus of these sessions will be developed in partnership with delegates who book on.
The agenda for the meetings will be shaped and agreed in consultation with practitioners.
The venue and agenda for each meeting will be confirmed via email.

Code: SCH/20/12 Key Stage 2 Assessment of Writing: Session 3 - Cross-School Cluster Moderation (am option)

This is the final session of 3 sessions (Familiarisation, Have-a-Go, Cross-school cluster moderation) designed to support teachers in confidently and accurately assessing writing in Y6.

These moderation sessions will provide an opportunity for Year 6 teachers to have a writing collection externally moderated. All delegates will receive feedback on the collection they have brought to moderation.
All delegates to bring a copy of:

• A collection from one child comprising 4-6 pieces of evidence across a range of genres

(This collection needs to be photocopied four times).
