Code: SCH/21/48 Maths Subject Leader Meeting - Summer Term

Termly half day meetings provide opportunities for networking with colleagues, exploring examples of mathematical activities and discussion of pedagogical issues.

There will be ideas and support for leaders to develop staff training and professional development in their schools and opportunities to deepen subject leaders own subject knowledge.

The exact content of sessions 2 and 3 are subject to change due to the current uncertainty around the ways schools will be working. Agendas for both meetings will be sent out in advance.

£65 per person per session for all Peterborough schools and academies, and Cambridgeshire LA maintained schools*

£75 per person per session for Cambridgeshire academies, schools from other LAs and Independent schools*

*No charge for schools who have bought into the leadership workshop package

Code: SCH/21/31 EYFS Profile Moderation - Free Workshops for Non-Moderated Schools - Option 1

The Moderation Workshops enable Reception Teachers and other relevant staff to:

  • Take part in agreement trialling activities
  • Share their judgements with moderating teams and colleagues to ensure that the ‘pitch’ of their profile judgements is accurate
  • Ensure that EYFS Profile assessments are being carried out in accordance with the requirements and in line with exemplified national standards
Teachers must bring with them:
  • Observational evidence for a minimum of 3 children from across the school’s classes showing, where possible, attainment at Emerging, Expected and Exceeding: Please bring hard copies (Areas of Learning tbc)
  • Current or recent cohort data
  • EYFS Profile Handbook 2021
  • EYFS ARA 2021
  • EYFS Profile Exemplification materials

The focus of these termly meetings is to share good early years practice and provide updates on new initiatives. These meetings will provide opportunities to visit schools across the city and to see examples of good provision.

These sessions will provide additional support and training on topics such as outdoor learning, schemas, engaging boys, early literacy and early mathematics. The focus of these sessions will be developed in partnership with delegates who book on.

The agenda for the meetings will be shaped and agreed in consultation with practitioners.

The agenda for each meeting will be confirmed via email.

This is the final session of 3 sessions (Familiarisation, Have-a-Go, Cross-school cluster moderation) designed to support teachers in confidently and accurately assessing writing in Y6. All three sessions or individual sessions can be attended.

These moderation sessions will provide an opportunity for Year 6 teachers to have a writing collection externally moderated. All delegates will receive feedback on the collection they have bought to moderation.

All delegates to bring a copy of:

  •  A collection from one child comprising 4-6 pieces of evidence across a range of genres
(This collection needs to be photocopied four times)

This provides an opportunity to:

  • Discuss individual children's evidence towards the Early Learning Goals in preparation for submission of the EYFS Profile data
  • Look at Quality Assurance links.
This can be particularly useful for deciding whether children are at the goal for such aspects as writing

Please bring children's evidence to share and discuss.

Teachers can drop-in at any time between 3.30pm and 5.30pm or book a slot.
