The Key Stage 1 moderators will lead 3 sessions; Reading, Writing and Mathematics. This will focus on validating the accuracy of teacher assessment judgements based on evidence produced during day to day teaching in Year 2.


All delegates need to bring a copy of:

• A collection of evidence for one child (This evidence needs to be photocopied 4 times)

Each term there will be the opportunity for NEwly Qualified Teachers to attend a half-day session.

At each meeting NQTs will:
• Review progress towards meeting the Teacher Standards
• Evaluate the impact of their additional release time upon their teaching
• Review their Career Entry and Development Profile
• Participate in a CPD event; for example the effective teaching of reading.

More detailed agendas will be sent out to schools prior to each meeting.

Cost

No charge for all schools with whom the LA is acting as the Appropriate body.

Code: SCH/20/25 Moderation Preparation Meetings for EYFSP Moderated Schools

The Moderation Preparation meeting ensures that Reception Teachers and other relevant staff understand the statutory requirements of the EYFS Profile Moderation process for visited schools.

There will be an opportunity for teachers to meet their moderators, discuss their moderation process and arrange a date for the moderation visit in the summer term.

Teachers must bring with them:
• Observational evidence for a child working generally in the 40-60 months band or the Early Learning Goals: Please bring hard copies
• Current or recent cohort data
• EYFS Profile Handbook 2020
• EYFS ARA 2020
• EYFS Profile Exemplification materials
• Their diary to book the moderation visit

This is session 2 of three sessions (Familiarisation, Have-a-Go & Cross-school cluster moderation) designed to support teachers in confidently and accurately assessing writing in Y6.

This session will focus on assessing collections of writing collaboratively with colleagues and identifying next steps for the learners.
